Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “From acclaimed director Alexander Payne, THE HOLDOVERS follows a curmudgeonly instructor (Paul Giamatti) at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go.”

10/31/23- Excellent reviews for this comedy/drama. TRDB.

11/13/23- I liked the movie, particularly the second half. TRDB.

3) QUIZ LADY– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In Quiz Lady, a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Sandra Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.”

4) ALL DIRT ROADS TASTE OF SALT– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A lyrical, decades-spanning exploration across a woman’s life in Mississippi, the feature debut from award-winning poet, photographer and filmmaker Raven Jackson is a haunting and richly layered portrait, a beautiful ode to the generations of people and places that shape us.”
