2) SUBJECT- 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In the golden age of documentaries, who benefits? SUBJECT reveals the unintended consequences — good, bad, and complicated — of having your life shared on screen. Featuring the protagonists of acclaimed documentaries The Staircase, Hoop Dreams, The Wolfpack, Capturing the Friedmans, and The Square.”
11/6/23- Mostly good reviews. TRDB.
3) QUIZ LADY– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In Quiz Lady, a brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Sandra Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.”
11/6/23- Fairly good reviews from most critics. TRDB.
4) ALL DIRT ROADS TASTE OF SALT– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A lyrical, decades-spanning exploration across a woman’s life in Mississippi, the feature debut from award-winning poet, photographer and filmmaker Raven Jackson is a haunting and richly layered portrait, a beautiful ode to the generations of people and places that shape us.”
11/6/23- Excellent reviews for this drama. TRDB.
5) BEYOND UTOPIA– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A suspenseful, riveting portrait of the lengths people will go to gain freedom, BEYOND UTOPIA follows various families as they attempt to flee North Korea, one of the most oppressive places on Earth, a land they grew up believing was a paradise.”
