MOVIES I SAW THIS WEEK-
1) NYAD– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A remarkable true story of tenacity, friendship and the triumph of the human spirit, NYAD recounts a riveting chapter in the life of world-class athlete Diana Nyad. Three decades after giving up marathon swimming in exchange for a prominent career as a sports journalist, at the age of 60, Diana (four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening) becomes obsessed with completing an epic swim that always eluded her: the 110 mile trek from Cuba to Florida.”

10/20/2023- Good but not great reviews for this drama/ documentary. TRDB.

10/18/23– I saw this movie and I think you can forget about it although it had some historical value. TRDB.

3) DEEP RISING– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “5 years after Anote’s Ark, Matthieu Rytz returns with this up-to-the-minute tale of geopolitical, scientific, and corporate intrigue that exposes the machinations of a secretive organization empowered to greenlight massive extraction of metals from the deep seafloor that are deemed essential to the electric battery revolution.”

4) PAIN HUSTLERS- Poor reviews
5) PRISCILLA– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a vulnerable best friend.”

11/1/23- Excellent reviews for this movie. TRDB.

6) FOUR DAUGHTERS– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “This riveting exploration of rebellion, memory, and sisterhood reconstructs the story of Olfa Hamrouni and her four daughters, unpacking a complex family history through intimate interviews and performance to examine how the Tunisian woman’s two eldest were radicalized by Islamic extremists.”

11/2/23- Excellent reviews for this documentary/drama. TRDB.

7) RADICAL– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In a Mexican border town plagued by neglect, corruption, and violence, a frustrated teacher tries a radical new method to break through his students’ apathy and unlock their curiosity, their potential… and maybe even their genius. Based on a true story.”
