CONCERNED CITIZEN– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A dark comedy about gentrification in which a socially progressive man’s attempt to improve his Tel Aviv neighborhood goes unexpectedly awry. A satirical parable about the insidious ways in which privilege can unleash prejudice within.”
6/3/23- Very good reviews for this drama from Israel. TRDB.
6/4/23- I didn’t care for this movie at all. TRDB. On Prime.

PERSIAN LESSONS– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Set in occupied France in 1942, Persian Lessons follows Gilles (Nahuel Pe?rez Biscayart), a Belgian Jew, who narrowly avoids sudden execution by swearing to the guards that he’s Persian, not Jewish. While the lie temporarily saves him, Gilles is then assigned the extraordinary task of teaching Farsi, a language he doesn’t know, to Koch (Lars Eidinger), the officer in charge of the camp’s kitchen who dreams of opening a restaurant in Iran once the war is over.”
