MOVIES I SAW THIS WEEK-
1) DECISION TO LEAVE- 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “From a mountain peak in South Korea, a man plummets to his death. Did he jump, or was he pushed? When detective Hae-joon arrives on the scene, he begins to suspect the dead man’s wife Seo-rae. But as he digs deeper into the investigation, he finds himself trapped in a web of deception and desire.”

10/20/22- Excellent reviews for this Korean drama. One critic however, did say that he enjoyed the movie even though several parts were confusing and I agree. TRDB. Prime Video

1) THE LAST AUTUMN– 2019. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Farmers in Árneshreppur, Iceland, welcome their grandchildren to the last autumn they will herd their sheep from the surrounding mountains.”

1/20/23- Just 1 review noted for this Icelandic documentary and it is very good. TRDB.

2) AFTER LOVE– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Set in the port town of Dover, Mary Hussain suddenly finds herself a widow following the unexpected death of her husband. A day after the burial, she discovers he has a secret just twenty-one miles across the English Channel in Calais.”

1/20/23- Excellent reviews. TRDB. In Theaters

3) IN FROM THE SIDE– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Minute for minute, you won’t find a more romantic gay film this year than British rugby drama IN FROM THE SIDE, a surprisingly moving sports-team story slathered in sweat, streaked with mud, and dripping with sensuality.”

1/20/23- Awful reviews from the critics and very good ones from audiences. TRDB.

4) NEW GODS: YANG JIAN- Excellent reviews from the critics. TRDB
5) WHEN YOU FINISH SAVING THE WORLD– 2023. “Evelyn (Julianne Moore) has devoted herself to helping people in hard times, but she struggles to connect with her son Ziggy (Finn Wolfhard), an aspiring internet star oblivious to the problems of the world.”

6) ALICE, DARLING– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In the taut thriller ALICE, DARLING, Oscar® nominee Anna Kendrick (“Up in the Air”) stars as a woman pushed to the breaking point by her psychologically abusive boyfriend, Simon. While on vacation with two close girlfriends, Alice rediscovers the essence of herself and gains some much-needed perspective.”

8) ALL EYES OFF ME– Just 2 reviews and they are weak. On Vudu
9) ONLY IN THEATERS– 2023. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “ONLY IN THEATERS, a film by actor/director Raphael Sbarge, is an intimate and moving journey taken with the Laemmle family, spanning nearly three years of challenges, losses, and personal triumphs.”
