MOVIES I SAW THIS WEEK-
1) DON’T MAKE ME GO– 2022. Synopsis by RT. “When single father Max (John Cho) discovers he has a terminal disease, he decides to try and cram all the years of love and support he will miss with his teenage daughter Wally (Mia Isaac) into the time he has left with her. With the promise of long-awaited driving lessons, he convinces Wally to accompany him on a road trip from California to New Orleans for his 20th college reunion, where he secretly hopes to reunite her with her mother who left them long ago.”

7/16/22- Miserable reviews from the critics and excellent ones from audiences. Loving road trips I’ll try to see this. TRDB. On Amazon

7/17/22- I enjoyed the movie- not great but worth seeing. TRDB.

Unexpectedly, the government begins construction on a garbage landfill right outside their fence, bringing the trash and corruption of a whole country to their doorstep.”  In Theaters
2) MY NAME IS SARA– 2022. Synopsis by RT. “MY NAME IS SARA tells the true life story of Sara Goralnik, a 13-year-old Polish Jew whose entire family was killed by Nazis in September 1942. After a grueling escape to the Ukrainian countryside, Sara steals her Christian best friend’s identity and finds refuge in a small village, where she is taken in by a farmer and his young wife.”

3) ANONYMOUS CLUB– 2022. Synopsis by RT. “Shot on vivid 16mm film over a three-year period, ANONYMOUS CLUB chronicles notoriously shy, Melbourne-based musician Courtney Barnett’s ups and downs on the world tour for her album Tell Me How You Really Feel.”

5) QUEEN OF GLORY– 2022. Synopsis by RT. “‘Queen of Glory’ is the story of Sarah Obeng, the brilliant child of Ghanaian immigrants, who is quitting her Ivy League PhD program to follow her married lover to Ohio. When her mother dies suddenly, she bequeaths her daughter a Christian bookstore in the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx where Sarah was raised.”

6) MARX CAN WAIT– 2022. Synopsis by RT. “1968 was the year Camillo died. Nearly 50 years after the death of his twin brother at the age of 29, Marco Bellocchio gathers his family to reconstruct Camillo’s disappearance.”
