NEW MOVIES AT THEATERS AND/OR STREAMING-
1) HAPPENING- 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “France, 1963. Anne is a bright young student with a promising future ahead of her. But when she falls pregnant, she sees the opportunity to finish her studies and escape the constraints of her social background disappearing.”

5/9/22- Excellent reviews for this French drama. TRDB. 

2) REFLECTION– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In 2014, Ukrainian surgeon Serhiy enlists to fight Russian military forces in the Donbass region, where he is captured by enemy soldiers. Now a prisoner of war, Serhiy is forced to witness horrifying scenes of humiliation and violence at the hands of the Russian invaders, his medical background co-opted to dispense mercy killings to the tortured.”

5/9/22- Excellent reviews for this Russian drama. TRDB.

3) THE SANCTITY OF SPACE– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Climbers/filmmakers Renan Ozturk and Freddie Wilkinson retrace the steps of pioneering mountaineer and aerial photographer Bradford Washburn. Inspired by Washburn’s iconic images of Alaska, Ozturk and Wilkinson attempt the unprecedented traverse of the Mooses Tooth massif.”

5/10/22- Fair reviews at best for this documentary. TRDB.

4) HUMAN FACTORS– 2022, Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “To escape tensions at the advertising agency they own, a couple and their kids go away to their seaside vacation home.”

5) SHERYL- 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “SHERYL is an intimate story of song and sacrifice by musical icon Sheryl Crow as she navigates an iconic yet arduous musical career battling sexism, depression, cancer, and the price of fame.”

6) ALONG FOR THE RIDE– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “It’s Auden’s last summer before college and she’s spending it in picturesque Colby Beach. While other teens party in the sun, loner Auden spends her time roaming the streets after everyone else is asleep. Everything changes when she meets Eli, a charming and mysterious fellow insomniac.”

5/9/21- Really poor reviews from the critics but decent ones from audiences. TRDB.

 3) PETITE MAMAN– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Following the death of her beloved grandmother, 8-year-old Nelly accompanies her parents to her mother’s childhood home to begin the difficult process of cleaning out its contents. As Nelly explores the house and nearby woods, she is immediately drawn to a neighbor her own age building a treehouse.”
