1) PARALLEL MOTHERS– 2021. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Two women, Janis and Ana, coincide in a hospital room where they are going to give birth. Both are single and became pregnant by accident. Janis, middle-aged, doesn’t regret it and she is exultant. The other, Ana, an adolescent, is scared, repentant and traumatized..”

On the eve of his high school graduation, everything changes when he’s exposed to HIV. While he waits three months for his results, Caleb finds love in the most unlikely of places.”

2) FAMILY SQUARES– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “The Worths are a family portrait of dysfunction. When Grandma Mabel dies suddenly, they must set aside their differences and come together. Mayhem quickly ensues as long buried family secrets bubble to the surface with a shocking revelation.”

3) FRIENDS AND STRANGERS– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Friends and Strangers is a comedy-drama that explores displacement, disconnection and ennui in contemporary Australia through the eyes of two upper-middle class millennials.’

4) CARELESS CRIME-2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “During the uprising to overthrow the Shah’s regime in Iran, protestors set fire to movie theaters to protest Western culture. Forty years later, four people decide to re-create the past by burning down a theater.”

5) CREATION STORIES– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Music impresario Alan McGee’s journey from his native Glasgow into the heyday of ’90s British rock music, intercut with an older version of himself recounting these events to an interviewer.”

6) THE BURNING SEA– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In 1969, the Norwegian government announces their discovery of one of the world’s largest oil fields in the neighboring North Sea, launching a prosperous period of offshore drilling. 50 years later, the environmental consequences begin to manifest — a crack has opened on the ocean floor, causing a rig to collapse. ”

7) MR. BACHMAN AND HIS CLASS– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “MR. BACHMANN AND HIS CLASS is an intimate documentary portraying the bond between an elementary school teacher and his students. His unconventional methods clash with the complex social and cultural realities of the provincial German industrial town they live in.”

8) SERVANTS– 3/1/22. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “In Czechoslovakia, 1980, the totalitarian Communist regime demands allegiance from all its subjects, including the clergy. Servants follows Michal and Juraj, two conflicted novitiates whose seminary is under increasing pressure by the Party to mold its students into satisfactory citizens. With the school on the brink of dissolution, and its head priest a target for blackmail, Michal and Juraj will have to choose between collaborating with the government as informants, or becoming targets of the secret police.”

2) THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD– 2022. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “The Worst Person in the World is a modern dramedy about the quest for love and meaning in contemporary Oslo. It chronicles four years in the life of Julie (Renate Reinsve), a young woman who navigates the troubled waters of her love life and struggles to find her career path, leading her to take a realistic look at who she really is.”

3) AFTER YANG–  2022.  Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “When his young daughter’s beloved companion — an android named Yang — malfunctions, Jake (Colin Farrell) searches for a way to repair him.
