MOVIES I SAW THIS WEEK-

1) WHAT WE WANTED– 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A couple facing fertility issues finds their marriage tested on a vacation to a Sardinian resort, and the family next door only adds to the tension.”

11/10/20- I’ve noted a few reviews of this German movie and they are all good. I agree. The movie is dubbed and sub-titled. TRDB. On  Netflix.

2) 37 SECONDS– 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A comic book artist who has cerebral palsy embarks on a journey of sexual and personal self-discovery.”

11/17/20- Loved the movie!! TRDB.

3) THE LIFE AHEAD– 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “An aging Holocaust survivor forges a bond with a young immigrant from Senegal who recently robbed her.”

11/13/20- Very good reviews for this drama starring Sophia Loren. TRDB. On Netflix.
11/13/20- I enjoyed this movie very much. Sophia Loren is still great. TRDB.

4) WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME– 2020. Synopsis by IMDB. “Live Broadway cast production of Heidi Schreck’s play presenting multiple facets, historical perspectives and personal experiences with the U.S. Constitution.”

11/18/20- Excellent reviews from the critics and I concur. TRDB.

NEW STREAMABLE MOVIES-

1) THE CLIMB– 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Two lifelong pals test the boundaries of their friendship when a woman comes between them.”

Netflix had this to say-“The ties that bind are examined in this comic tale about the long-term friendship of best pals Kyle and Mike. Unfolding in seven vignettes spanning a decade, the story begins with Mike’s revelation that he slept with Kyle’s fiancée.”

11/13/20- Very good reviews for this drama. TRDB.

2) DREAMLAND- 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A teen bounty hunter is torn between helping or capturing a seductive fugitive bank robber hiding in his small town during the Great Depression.”

11/13/20- Fair reviews. Streams on 11/17/20 on Vudu

3) MONSOON– 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Kit, a Vietnamese man living in England, returns to Saigon for the first time in over 30 years.
11/13/20- Excellent reviews. Will soon stream on Amazon Prime

5) MAKE UP- 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A teen makes an unsettling discovery about her boyfriend that lures her into a spiral of obsession.”

11/13/20- Excellent reviews. TRDB. On various platforms

6) I AM GRETA– 2010. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Audiences might not learn anything new from I Am Greta, but its stirring chronicle of the young activist’s efforts is inspiring.”

11/13/20- Good reviews from most critics but audience scores were terrible. TRDB. Streams Nov. 17

7) AMMONITE– 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Mary, a paleontologist, works alone selling common fossils to tourists. A chance job offer changes Mary’s life when a visitor hires her to care for his wife.”

11/13/20- Fair reviews but the by the critics but after the review in today’s NY Times I will definitely try to see this movie starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan . TRDB. Will stream beginning 12/4/20.
