MOVIES I SAW LAST WEEK AT HOME-
1) MENORCA– 2017. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Claire, a suburban mother indulging in some good-natured hedonistic debauchery, receives word from her child that he is abandoning her as his mother. To win back his affection, she decides to carry a small rock half way around the world to its place of origin on a Mediterranean island.”

5/14/20- Pretty weird but it kept my interest. TRDB. Netflix.

2) DRIVEWAYS– 2020. Synopsis by Netflix. “When 8-year-old Cody travels cross-country with his mom to clean out her late sister’s house, he’s ready for adventure. But little does he know that it will take the form of a friendship with the grouchy Korean War veteran next door.”

5/8/20- Excellent reviews for this drama. TRDB. On Prime Video.

5/15/20- I enjoyed the movie. This was the last movie with Brian Dennehy as he died shortly before the movie was released. TRDB.

3) THE WRONG MISSY– 2020. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “When Tim Morris meets his dream girl and their relationship quickly escalates through texts, he throws caution to the wind and invites her to his company’s corporate retreat on an island resort… However, when a past blind date from hell shows up at the airport for the weekend getaway instead, he learns too late that he’s been texting “The Wrong Missy”.

5/15/20- Poor reviews from critics and audiences as well but it was so stupid and funny at times that I actually enjoyed it. TRDB. Netflix.

4) HARRIET- 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “This inspiring biopic recounts the life of Harriet Tubman, who’s born into servitude and becomes known as the “Moses of her people” for helping slaves escape bondage through the Underground Railroad. Later, she works as a spy for the Union Army.”

10/30/19- Fair reviews at best for this drama about Harriet Tubman. TRDB.

5/18/20- A really Hollywood version of a basically true story. I had trouble staying interested. TRDB. Netflix.
