MOVIES I SAW LAST WEEK AT HOME-
1) HOME ALONE– I watched this with my grandchildren and enjoyed it. TRDB.
2) HOME ALONE 2– I watched this one too and I really liked the original much better. TRDB.
3) MIKE WALLACE IS HERE– 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “When it came to asking tough questions, longtime “60 Minutes” reporter Mike Wallace pulled few punches. This documentary takes a similar approach, using a wealth of archival footage to explore what made the journalist tick and how his career evolved.”

12/31/19- An excellent documentary where you learn about the subject through interviews he has conducted with subjects, many of which are famous people. TRDB.

1) JUST MERCY– 2019. In this fact-based drama, newly minted attorney Bryan Stevenson moves to Alabama to begin a career defending the wrongly condemned, including Walter McMillian, a black man convicted of murder and sentenced to death despite evidence of his innocence.”

12/26/19- Good reviews by audiences and really good ones from the critics. TRDB.

2) CLEMENCY- 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “As the longtime warden of a high-security prison, Bernadine Williams has overseen the execution of a dozen inmates. But her tacit connection with the next prisoner slated for execution, Anthony Woods, propels her into a deep emotional conflict.”

3) 1917- 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “At the height of World War I, two British soldiers battle to survive a single day of ferocious combat, facing death at any moment in a landscape littered with the corpses of their comrades-in arms.”

4) WHAT SHE SAID– 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “As film critic at “The New Yorker” from 1967 to 1991, charismatic and controversial Pauline Kael exercised a profound influence over the direction of cinema, as detailed in this engaging documentary that includes interviews with her friends and foes.”

12/28/19- Very good reviews for this documentary. TRDB.

5) THE SONG OF NAMES– 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “This sweeping drama charts the story of two Jewish friends: young Londoner Martin and Polish refugee Dovidl, a talented violinist. When Dovidl vanishes shortly before his first recital, it takes Martin more than three decades to unravel the mystery.”

12/28/19- Poor reviews but it does sound interesting. TRDB.

Not Recommended
1) ONE CUT OF THE DEAD– A zombie movie that I would suggest missing despite the excellent reviews. TRDB.

4) PARASITE– Cinema 100. I did ‘t care for this movie
5) BOMBSHELL– Bethel, Danbury. I liked this movie very much
6) RICHARD JEWELL– Danbury Good reviews
7) KNIVES OUT– Jacob Burns, Bethel, Danbury.Fairly good reviews
8) A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD– Danbury. Excellent
9) FORD V FERRARI– Danbury. I didn’t care for this movie.

1) LITTLE WOMEN– Fair reviews. Women have liked the movie more than men
2) UNCUT GEMS– Very good reviews- friends have hated it
3) BOMBSHELL– I liked the movie
4) RICHARD JEWELL– Good reviews and I’ll see it eventually
5) DARK WATERS– I enjoyed this movie
6) THE GOOD LIAR– I still haven’t seen this but I want to
B) THE MOVIES OF DELRAY- Same as Lake Worth above but not showing “Richard Jewell”
C) THE STONZEK THEATER AT THE LAKE WORTH PLAYHOUSE-
1) PARASITE– I did not care for this hyped movie
2) MIDNIGHT FAMILY– 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “A woefully underserved medical market, Mexico City has just 45 ambulances for 9 million residents. To help fill the void, the Ochoa family races against an army of freelancers to provide life-saving first responses to an array of crises.”

12/6/19- Great reviews for this documentary. TRDB.

D) THE LIVING ROOM THEATERS AT FAU IN BOCA RATON-
1) A HIDDEN LIFE– Fairly good reviews
2) PARASITE– I didn’t care for this hyped movie
3) UNCUT GEMS– Good reviews– friends have hated it
4) RECORDER: THE MARION STOKES PROJECT– 2019. Synopsis by Netflix. “Civil-rights crusader Marion Stokes eventually retreated from the world, but her activism never ceased. For more than 30 years, she privately recorded the 24-hour news cycle — an obsession that drove away family but resulted in an essential archive.”
