MOVIES I SAW THIS WEEK AT THE THEATER-
1) FIRST MAN– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “When America needed a hero, test pilot turned astronaut Neil Armstrong stepped up to the plate, becoming the first person to walk on the moon. This absorbing biopic recounts his extraordinary journey and the sacrifices demanded of him along the way.”

10/9/18- Excellent reviews from the critics and fair ones from audiences. TRDB.

10/18/18- Overall I enjoyed it but I think that the movie was dull when not airborne and the suspense was artificially  heightened with the music.  TRDB.

MOVIES I SAW THIS WEEK AT HOME-
1) THE COURAGEOUS HEART OF IRENA SENDLER– 2009. Synopsis by Netflix. “In the early days of World War II, Polish Catholic social worker Irena Sendler (Anna Paquin, in a Golden Globe-nominated turn) devises a daring plan: Disguised as nurses, she and colleagues gain access to the Jewish ghetto in Warsaw and smuggled some 2,500 Jewish children to safety. John Kent Harrison directs this drama based on Sendler‘s real-life exploits, for which she received a Nobel Peace Prize nomination. Marcia Gay Harden and Nathaniel Parker co-star.”
Good reviews. TRDB.

10/24/18- An inspiring story and woman but the film did nothing for me except make me sad. TRDB. Netflix Disc.

8/11/18- I enjoyed the movie but it was far from great. Trying to make the movie more entertaining took away somewhat from the message. TRDB. At the Theater.

When Oren dies in a car crash in Israel, Thomas travels to Jerusalem seeking answers regarding his death.
