1) IN BETWEEN– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Set in Tel Aviv, this engrossing drama follows a trio of independent-minded Palestinian women who develop a bond of solidarity as they share an apartment and struggle to balance the differing values of tradition and modernity.”
1/5/18- Excellent reviews. TRDB.
5/19/18- Interesting most of the time, this film is really about independent Palestinian women without reference to the conflict in the area. TRDB. Netflix Disc.
9/16/16- Fairly good reviews. TRDB.
1/16/17- An enjoyable drama with a good screenplay. TRDB. Netflix Streaming.
2) WEST OF THE JORDAN RIVER– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Provocative Israeli filmmaker Amos Gitai provides an update to his 1982 documentary about the occupied territories, interviewing politicians, journalists, activists and ordinary citizens about their lives, their hopes for the future and more.”

3) RED SPARROW– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Sidelined by a leg injury, ballerina Dominika Egorova becomes a Russian spy tasked with seducing a CIA operative working in Moscow. As their liaison begins to blur her loyalties, Dominika considers becoming a double agent.”

4) GAME NIGHT– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Friendly competition turns deadly serious when a group of friends’ weekly game night becomes a murder-mystery party instead. As the players attempt to crack the case, they soon find that all is not what it seems.”

2) FIRST REFORMED– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Mired in guilt over his son’s death, the pastor of a small church agrees to counsel a pregnant congregant and her environmentalist husband, who challenges the clergyman’s views and leads him to embrace the same cause, regardless of the consequences.”

3) THAT SUMMER– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “In 1972, photographer Peter Beard and Lee Radziwill set out chronicle her childhood in the Hamptons. But when the Maysles brothers join the project, the focus changes to her eccentric Aunt Edith and daughter Edie — who would inspire “Grey Gardens.”

5) SAVING BRINTON– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “William Franklin Brinton — America’s greatest barnstorming movie man — comes alive in this engaging documentary that draws on a treasure trove of show reels, trinkets, posters and more discovered by Iowa collector Michael Zahs.”

6) POPE FRANCIS: A MAN OF HIS WORD– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Offering an unprecedented look into the life of Pope Francis, this engrossing documentary also features the pontiff speaking directly to believers about the issues that concern him most, particularly the environment and social justice.”

7) SOLLERS POINT– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Out of prison but under house arrest, petty criminal Keith is living at his dad’s Baltimore house while waiting to rejoin the community. But as Keith tries to get on the right track, past connections keep drawing him back to his former life.”

8) SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Set in the years before the events of the original “Star Wars” trilogy, this intergalactic prequel chronicles the early exploits of roguish young Han Solo and his shaggy sidekick, Chewbacca.”

Not Recommended
1) BOOK CLUB– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Friends and members of the 60-plus set, Diane, Jane, Sharon and Carol have seen it all when it comes to relationships. But after reading “Fifty Shades of Gray,” they’re inspired to make bold choices in the romance department, with hilarious results.”
