4/26/18- I’d say that the movie is fair and you can see it if you have 2 hours and 20 minutes to spare. TRDB. Netflix Disc.
2) THE RACHEL DIVIDE– 2018. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. ” Self-described “trans racial” activist Rachel Dolezal ignited an unprecedented media storm when a local news station in Spokane, WA outed her as a white woman who had been living as the black president of the NAACP.”
4/27/18- Fairly good reviews for this documentary. The NY Times did not like it. TRDB.
5/3/18- The topic is interesting, especially the term “trans” as it applies to race. I thought that the documentary lacked energy but I still enjoyed it. TRDB. Netflix Streaming.

2) LET THE SUNSHINE IN– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix “Lamenting the approach of middle age, divorced Parisian artist Isabelle wades back into the romantic fray to find a compatible mate. But she soon concludes that none of the men she meets seem to comprehend the basic truths of love.”
4/26/18- Starring Juliette Binoche this movie has received very good reviews. TRDB.
3) DUCK BUTTER– 2018. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. TRDB. “When Naima (Alia Shawkat, “Search Party”) and Sergio (Laia Costa, Victoria ) meet at a club, they hit it off instantly, connecting over their disdain for the dishonesty they have experienced in their respective romantic relationships. High on their fast chemistry, the two women concoct a romantic experiment: They plan to spend the next 24 hours together, having sex on the hour.”
4/27/18- An interesting premise but reviews are poor in general with a few really bad and a few really good ones mixed in. The NY Times did like it. TRDB.

6) IN THE LAST DAYS OF THE CITY– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “In a state of creative flux while attempting to document the inexorable effects of time on the ancient city of Cairo, independent filmmaker Khalid struggles with personal issues, including the loss of his girlfriend — who’s leaving him and Egypt.”

7) THE HOUSE OF TOMORROW– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Raised by his overbearing grandmother in a geodesic dome and steeped in futurist Buckminster Fuller’s theories, 16-year-old Sebastian gets a look at a different kind of life when she suffers a stroke and he strikes up a friendship with a punk rocker.”

Synopsis by Netflix. “As core indicators of high schoolers’ academic talents and preparedness, SAT and ACT exam results play a critical role in college admission decisions. This thought-provoking documentary raises serious concerns about the tests’ cultural objectivity.”

9) BECOMING WHO I WAS– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Born in Tibet, young Padma Angdu is living in Northern India when he learns that he was a revered Buddhist master in an earlier life. Accompanied by his aging godfather, Angdu sets off on a perilous quest to find his place in the world.”
