MOVIES I SAW THIS WEEK AT HOME-
1) THE GLASS CASTLE– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Adapted from the novel of the same name, this family drama follows future writer Jeannette Walls, who spends her hardscrabble childhood on the run with her negligent artist mother and storytelling alcoholic father.”

8/9/17- Mixed reviews but it sounds quirky enough to be enjoyable. Audiences liked it more than the critics. TRDB.

12/7/17- If you can get over hating the lead actor you can enjoy this movie. I did. TRDB. Netflix.

2) DREAM BOAT– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Once a year the Dream Boat sets sail for a cruise exclusively for gay men. Far from their families, political restrictions and internal boundaries, we follow five men from Poland, Palestine, India, France and Australia on a quest to live an authentic life. The cruise promises seven days of dancing, sunshine, sex, and freedom — but the men are also faced with loneliness, doubt and insecurity. In the search for a satisfying future, how many hopes will the DREAM BOAT fulfill?”

11/3/17- Just 4 reviews so far– 3 positive and 1 negative. TRDB.

12/9/17- Of minimal interest as we’ve heard it all before– just not on a cruise ship. TRDB. Netflix. Streaming.

3) JIM AND ANDY: THE GREAT BEYOND– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Eighteen years after playing oddball comedian Andy Kaufman (and his lounge singer alter ego) in the biopic “Man on the Moon,” Jim Carrey reflects on behind-the-scenes footage showing a profound connection between actor and subject.”

11/17/17- Great reviews for this documentary. TRDB.

12/9/17- With all of the great reviews I still did not get the point and finally turned it off. TRDB. Netflix Streaming.

4) THE TRIP TO SPAIN– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Again tasked with a culinary tour — this time of Spain — Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon arm themselves with celebrity impressions, witty banter and observations about aging, and set off on a road trip steeped in paella, gazpacho and wine.”

8/11/17- Mixed reviews at best. This is the 3rd. movie of this type with the same 2 actors. I did like the first two so I’ll probably try this one also. TRDB.

12/13/17- I enjoyed the movie– definitely not great but fun. TRDB. Netflix Streaming.
