1) SULLY- I liked it just as much as the first time I saw it and I was just as nervous the second time around! Comcast On-Demand.

THE DEBT- 2010. Synopsis by Netflix. “Rachel Singer (Helen Mirren) is a former Mossad intelligence agent forced to relive her unsuccessful 1965 pursuit of a notorious Nazi war criminal when
the bold and dangerous fugitive is thought to have reemerged 30 years later in
the Ukraine. Director John Madden’s redo of Assaf Bernstein’s 2007 Israeli suspense piece also features Jessica Chastain as
the young Rachel Singer, along with Sam Worthington, Tom Wilkinson and Ciarán Hinds.”
Fairly good reviews. TRDB.8/27/17-
A very good suspenseful drama. TRDB. Netflix Streaming.
3) GIFTED– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “When his sister dies, 30-something bachelor Frank Adler assumes the care of her 7-year-old daughter. But his plans to raise her are threatened when the child reveals herself to be a math prodigy, and his mom suddenly gets involved.”
4/5/17- Fair reviews from the critics and good ones from audiences. TRDB.
8/28/17- A bit predictable at times but I enjoyed the movie. TRDB.

THE WEDDING PLAN– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “This offbeat comedy follows bride-to-be Michal, a 32-year-old Orthodox Jew whose fiancé breaks their engagement. Rather than call off the nuptials, Michal decides to let God provide her with a groom by the scheduled wedding day.”5/12/17-
Fairly good reviews. TRDB.
5/19/17- Touted as a comedy– it isn’t. A wonderful Israeli movie that was poignant, interesting, and very well acted. TRDB.
2) MEGAN LEAVEY– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “In this affecting true-life drama, U.S. Marine Megan Leavey and her bomb-sniffing dog build a bond of trust and loyalty that sees them through more than 100 missions during the Iraq War — until an improvised explosive device injures them both.”6/6/17- Excellent reviews. TRDB.
3) LIKE CRAZY- 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Despite their opposite personalities, mental hospital patients Donatella and Beatrice become friends and eventually escape from the facility together, embarking on a journey through the real world — which seems nuttier than the place they fled.”5/5/17- Mostly very good reviews. TRDB.
4) PARIS CAN WAIT- 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “With her daughter at college and her workaholic husband perpetually absent, Anne Lockwood is ripe for the wooing when one of her spouse’s associates offers to give her a lift from Cannes to Paris — a seven-hour journey that turns into two days.”5/12/17- Fairly good reviews but friends have NOT liked it. BEACH RATS– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Teenage Frankie isn’t sure what he wants other than to escape from his dreary home life. In his quest to find himself — and to have some fun — he begins hooking up with older men while also pursuing a relationship with a prospective new girlfriend.”8/25/17-
Very good reviews from the critics and fair ones from audiences. TRDB.
2) GOOK- 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “On April 29, 1992, the acquittals of the police accused in the Rodney King beating spark a flurry of riots in South Central Los Angeles. In the midst of the looting and chaos, Korean-American brothers Eli and Daniel fight to save their small store.”
8/25/17- Excellent reviews by the critics despite several calling this movie “uneven.” TRDB.
3) CLASH– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Set during the tumult following Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak’s ouster in 2013, all of the action in this film takes place inside a police paddy wagon, where citizens of all political bents have been rounded up as violence rages in the streets.”
8/25/17- Excellent reviews for this drama. TRDB.
4) POLINA– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “All Polina has ever wanted to do is dance. But her presumed path from being a student bound for the Bolshoi Ballet to star ballerina shifts when she meets a French dancer who introduces Polina to modern choreography and a more expressive dance form.”
8/25/17- Fair reviews by the critics and weaker ones from audiences. Sounds interesting to me. TRDB.
5) TALES OF AN IMMORAL COUPLE– 2017. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Tales of an Immoral Couple centers on Lucio and Martina, two former lovers whose passionate romance began while attending a strict Catholic high school in Mexico. Twenty-five five years later, they unexpectedly run into each other in the city of San Miguel de Allende and despite still sharing an undiminished love for one another they both pretend to be in happy marriages – even if it’s all lies. As they try to maintain their facades, a comedy of errors ensues that reveals the true reasons why the couple ended up separating in the first place.”
8/25/17- I’ve seen just 3 reviews– 2 very good and one so-so. TRDB.

1) LEMON– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “When his longtime girlfriend leaves him, 40-year-old Isaac Lachmann watches as his life and acting career seem to dissolve before his eyes. But a new romance could offer Isaac a glimmer of hope.”

2) BUSHWICK– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “After she emerges from the New York City subway in the Bushwick neighborhood, five blocks is all that separates Lucy from her grandmother. But navigating them will take a lot of cunning and courage — because a Texas militia has invaded Brooklyn.”

3) ENGLAND IS MINE– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Before Steven Patrick Morrissey became frontman for the 1980s band the Smiths, he was a Manchester teen struggling to express himself in England’s industrial north. This earnest biopic charts his early years as he works to realize his musical dreams.”

Synopsis by Netflix. “As 17th-century Amsterdam is immersed in tulip mania, a struggling artist and a wealthy married woman fall in love when he’s commissioned to paint her portrait. To pay for a new life together, they gamble on the tulip bulb market.”8/31/17- Terrible early reviews. TRDB.
2) I DO … UNTIL I DON’T– Jacob Burns, Garden Cinema Norwalk. Synopsis by Netflix. “In this ensemble comedy, a documentary filmmaker invites three disparate Florida couples to discuss their unions, advancing with them her theory that marriage is obsolete and should be replaced with a seven-year renewable contract.”8/31/17- Awful reviews and I’ll miss it. D) LIVING ROOM THEATERS AT FAU IN BOCA RATON
1) FROM THE LAND OF THE MOON– – 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “In this absorbing adaptation of novelist Milena Agus’ “Mal de Pierres,” passionate Frenchwoman Gabrielle finds herself torn between the man she’s expected to wed and a disarming veteran of World War II.”7/28/17- The premise sounds interesting but reviews have been negative– better from audiences than from the critics. I’d try it. TRDB.
