1) THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW<\/strong>–\u00a02021. Synopsis by Netflix. “Plagued by severe agoraphobia, New Yorker Anna Fox never leaves her home, instead spending her time watching movies and spying on her new neighbors. When she witnesses a shocking event, she must decide whether to notify the police.”<\/p>\n

5\/14\/21-\u00a0Poor reviews by the critics and by audiences- well deserved- I turned it off. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2) THE MAURITANIAN<\/strong>– 2021. Synopsis by Netflix. “After suffering a decade of confinement at Guantanamo Bay — without being charged by the U.S. government — Mohamedou Ould Slahi finds a powerful ally in defense attorney Nancy Hollander, who faces myriad obstacles in their fight for justice.”<\/p>\n

2\/14\/21-\u00a0Weak reviews in general but most critics said that Jodie Foster was excellent in her role. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5\/17\/21-\u00a0The movie was just OK and it helped that the story was basically true. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3) MINARI-<\/strong> 2021. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. “<\/p>\n

Netflix had this to say–\u00a0The patriarch of a Korean family living in Michigan during the 1980s wants to be a farmer in Arkansas, but his family experiences severe culture shock as they try to assimilate and become part of the community.<\/p>\n

5\/18\/21-\u00a0A sweet drama that relies on the power of family for its success. I enjoyed it very much.\u00a0Nominated for Best Picture at Academy Awards.\u00a0 TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The film tells the story of a young woman (M\u00e9lanie Laurent, 6 Underground, Inglourious Basterds), who wakes up in a cryogenic pod. She doesn’t remember who she is or how she ended up there. As she’s running out of oxygen, she must rebuild her memory to find a way out of her nightmare. <\/span><\/div>\n

Tracking their parallel lives in New York and Havana, their poignant reunion, and their momentous first performances together, Los Hermanos\/The Brothers offers a nuanced, often startling view of estranged nations through the lens of music and family.”<\/p>\n
