Synopsis by Netflix. “Father Daniel loves his job as a small-town parish priest, but he’s shaken to the core when he finds himself attracted to a woman he meets in confession. Seeing the young cleric in a quandary, a pair of fellow priests attempts to guide him.”<\/p>\n

9\/8\/17- Weak reviews by the critics but good ones from audiences. I’d give it a chance. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1\/28\/18-\u00a0I’ll side with audiences on this one. Certainly not a great movie but I did enjoy it. TRDB.<\/strong>\u00a0Netflix Streaming.<\/p>\n

2) MR. ROOSEVELT<\/strong>– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix “Texas native Emily is trying to make it as a comic in Los Angeles when she gets word from her ex that the cat they once shared is ailing. Hightailing it back to Austin, Emily finds the feline dead — and a new girlfriend ensconced in her former home.’<\/p>\n

3) THE GIRL FROM THE SONG<\/strong>– 2017. About a bunch of\u00a0Brits looking to find themselves head to the US to attend the “Burning Man” festival in Nevada.<\/p>\n

1\/29\/18-\u00a0A fair movie at best with a few redeeming qualities. TRDB.\u00a0<\/strong>Netflix Streaming.<\/p>\n

4) BACK TO SCHOOL<\/strong>– Starring Rodney Dangerfield, a successful businessman who goes back to college.<\/p>\n

1\/29\/18-\u00a0A classic comedy. I hadn’t seen it in a few years and loved it all over again. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2) TAKE EVERY WAVE: THE LIFE OF LAIRD HAMILTON<\/strong>– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Turning to the mammoth waves of Oahu’s north shore to escape an abusive home, Laird Hamilton has made surfing innovation his life’s work. With a winter surf season on Kauai as the backdrop, this in-depth documentary charts his story.”<\/p>\n

3) TOM OF FINLAND<\/strong>– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “When Touko Laaksonen returns to his native Finland after World War II, he begins creating the frank homoerotic drawings that will eventually bring him global fame — despite living in an environment where homosexuality is a criminal offense.”<\/p>\n

10\/15\/17-\u00a0Fairly good reviews. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

4) ONLY THE BRAVE<\/strong>– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “This action-drama chronicles the true story of 19 elite firefighters from Arizona’s Prescott Fire Department who lost their lives in June 2013 while battling the Yarnell Hill wildfire that was ignited by lightning.”<\/p>\n

10\/20\/17-\u00a0Excellent reviews by nearly everyone. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

5) SUNDOWNERS<\/strong>– 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Alex Hopper couldn’t be more bored with his “career” as a wedding videographer. So, when his boss sends him to a destination wedding in Mexico, the frustrated filmmaker invites a friend along and the two are primed for fun — whatever it may entail.”<\/p>\n

6) BUSTER’S MAL HEART<\/strong>–\u00a02017. Synopsis by Netflix. “In this mind-bending existential mystery, an eccentric fugitive living in the woods survives on food he steals from unoccupied vacation homes. But he’s tormented by visions of being adrift at sea and memories of his prior life as a loving family man.”<\/p>\n

7) WALKING OUT<\/strong>–\u00a02017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Texas teen David visits his father’s off-the-grid Montana home once a year, and this time Dad decides David is ready for his first big-game hunt. But when a run-in with a grizzly bear leaves Dad injured, David is forced to take charge.”<\/p>\n

Synopsis by Netflix. “Provocative Israeli filmmaker Amos Gitai provides an update to his 1982 documentary about the occupied territories, interviewing politicians, journalists, activists and ordinary citizens about their lives, their hopes for the future and more.”<\/p>\n

3) THE LAST FAMILY<\/strong>– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Capturing the many obsessions of 20th-century Polish painter Zdzislaw Beksinski, this highly stylized biopic chronicles his relationships with his long-suffering wife, Zofia, and the couple’s mentally unstable son, Tomasz.”<\/p>\n

1\/26\/18-\u00a0Fairly good reviews by both the critics and by audiences. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4) THE OPERA HOUSE<\/strong>– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Through archival film and interviews, filmmaker Susan Froemke charts the fascinating history of New York City’s famed Metropolitan Opera, from its early days on 39th Street to its move to Lincoln Center in 1966.”<\/p>\n

5) PLEASE STAND BY<\/strong>– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Intent on submitting her 500-page script to a writing competition, autistic young Wendy sneaks away from her care home and heads for Hollywood. In hot pursuit is her caregiver, Scottie — who inspired Wendy to begin writing in the first place.”<\/p>\n

7) SHOT IN THE DARK<\/strong>– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “While basketball coach Lou Adams and his Orr Academy players have been scarred by the violence and inequality endemic to their inner-city Chicago neighborhood, that’s all the more reason for them to dream big, as chronicled in this documentary.”<\/p>\n

8) MAZE RUNNER: THE DEATH CURE<\/strong>– 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “In the final stirring chapter of the “Maze Runner” trilogy, Thomas and his Glader warriors have one last chance to find a cure for the Flare pandemic. As the apocalyptic face-off with the WCKD organization begins, Thomas employs a daring strategy.”<\/p>\n

1\/26\/18-\u00a0Poor reviews by the critics and OK ones by audiences. My grandchildren want to see it. TRDB.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2)\u00a0THE SQUARE<\/strong>–\u00a0Jacob Burns. 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Testing the thin line between art and reality, a famed museum’s new creative director mounts an installation — “The Square” — intended to foster altruism. But he sets off a hue and cry after enlisting a public relations firm to tout the exhibition.”<\/p>\n
