THE COLLECTION- 2012. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “When Elena’s (Emma Fitzpatrick) friends take her to a secret party at an undisclosed location, she never imagined she would become the latest victim of The Collector, a psychopathic killer. The Collector kidnaps and transports her to an abandoned hotel he’s transformed into his own private maze of torture and death. Upon learning of his daughter’s disappearance, Elena’s wealthy father (Christopher McDonald) hires a group of mercenaries to retrieve her from the vicious grips of The Collector. These mercenaries coerce Arkin (Josh Stewart), the only man to have escaped the wrath of this heinous monster, to lead them through the gruesome labyrinth. Now, Arkin finds himself fighting for his own life in order to save Elena.

Not my kind of movie but it has received very good reviews so far. I’ll skip it! TRDB.

Told from the perspective of those who were there and saw what happened, The Bay unfolds over 24 hours though people’s iPhones, Androids, 911 calls, web cams, and whatever else could be used to document the nightmare in Claridge”

11/2/12- OK reviews in general and in today’s NY Times but this movie is definitely not for me.  TRDB.

THE POSSESSION- 2012. Synopsis by Netflix. “In this supernatural horror flick, a young girl unwittingly unleashes an evil spirit that resides in a curious old box filled will mysterious relics. Now the girl and her estranged parents must break the hold the demonic force has on their family.”

8/31/12- An OK review in today’s NY Times but poor reviews in general from critics. Audiences have liked it. TRDB.

INTRUDERS

INTRUDERS- 2011. Synopsis by Netflix. “Childhood demons become all too real in this thriller starring Clive Owen as the father of a girl who dreams of creatures that are out to get her family. A parallel story focuses on a Spanish mother and son who go up against a faceless stranger.”

3/31/12- Awful reviews in general but the Times gave it an OK. TRDB.

CENTIPEDE

CENTIPEDE- Premise by Netflix. “After their car breaks down while in Germany, Americans Lindsay (Ashley C. Williams) and Jenny (Ashlynn Yennie) wind up at a remote villa — and soon find themselves trapped in a nightmare. Dr. Josef Heiter (Dieter Laser) kidnaps them for his demented experiment to create a human “centipede.” The plan includes removing their kneecaps so they must walk on all fours, then surgically connecting them to a Japanese man to create a bizarre human chain.”
