MARVIN, SETH AND STANLEY-2014. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “The usually quarreling Greenstein brothers Seth (Karpovsky) and Stanley (writer/director Stephen Gurewitz reluctantly agree to join their father, Marvin, for a weekend trip in rural Minnesota. Estranged from each other, the threesome of inept outdoorsmen rediscover repressed grudges as the weekend comically devolves into a series of daytime drinking episodes and botched outdoor pursuits . A serious comedy of deceit and stilted emotions.”

APE- 2014. Seemingly unaware of the havoc she wreaks, she skips from one place to another, including her best friend’s, where she crashes a holiday meal and seduces the best friend’s socially inept brother. Natalia ends up staying at a shelter run by genuinely good Maury, who takes an interest in making her life better — but life is not that simple, and tragedy ensues.”

BICYCLING WITH MOLIERE- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “A TV celebrity faces an uphill battle as he tries to persuade his old pal, once-famous actor Serge Tanneur, to take on the lead in a Moliere play, no easy task considering the reclusive Serge has given up acting and burns every script he receives.”

FADING GIGOLO- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Middle-aged Fioravante and Murray are an unlikely gigolo and pimp in this farce about two cash-strapped friends who turn to the sex trade to make ends meet. Their new enterprise is fruitful, but things get complicated when romance enters the picture.”
4/12/14- Mixed reviews but more positive than negative. I’ll see it just to see Woody Allen in a movie that’s not his. TRDB.
