5/8/15- Fairly good reviews. TRDB.

5/16/15- This movie was a big hit in Sweden but for me and for many critics it seemed ridiculous. There were a few funny scenes. TRDB. At the Theater.

5/8/15- Weak reviews from critics and audiences although a few gave it fairly good reviews. TRDB.

5 FLIGHTS UP- 2015.  Synopsis by Netflix. “Married for four decades, New Yorkers Ruth and Alex have had a wonderful life together — most of it spent in their cherished Brooklyn walk-up. But now that it’s time to sell, the universe seems determined to thwart them.”

5/5/15- Reviews were more negative than positive but I did read a more extensive review and I will recommend the movie. TRDB.

5/18/15- A delightful drama/comedy starring Morgan Freeman, Diane Keaton and Cynthia Nixon, all of whom play very well with each other. TRDB.Comcast On-Demand.

5/1/15- OK reviews from critics and fair ones from audiences. TRDB.

5/19/15- Kristen Wiig was wonderful in this dramatic comedy and I really enjoyed the movie. TRDB. Comcast On-Demand.

RIDE

RIDE- 2015. Synopsis by Netflix. “When Jackie’s free-spirited son swaps college for the breakers of California, she decides to follow him west, hoping to mend fences between them. Soon after arriving, Jackie meets a young surfing instructor who helps her rediscover her sexuality.”

5/1/15- Wildly mixed reviews but I like Helen Hunt and I think I’ll give this one a try. TRDB.

8/29/15- Overall I’d say that I did enjoy this movie despite its predictability. Also, one critic said that Helen Hunt, who wrote the script, seemed to be trying too hard and I would agree. TRDB. Netflix.

ZERO MOTIVATION

ZERO MOTIVATION- 2015. Synopsis by Netflix. “Serving out their required term in the military, a collection of young Israeli soldiers are posted to a desolate base in the middle of the desert. As their collective boredom mounts, personal frictions begin to surface among the all-female company.”

An Israeli military comedy that reminded me of MASH with the absurdity of war as a backdrop. I enjoyed it. TRDB. Seen at the Jewish Film Festival at Jacob Burns.

WHILE WE’RE YOUNG- 2015. Synopsis by Netflix. “Documentary filmmaker Josh Srebnick is up against a creative wall when he meets an attractive and quirky young couple, Jamie and Darby, who bring new vigor and energy to the lives of Josh and his wife — until a professional conflict arises.”

3/27/15– Mostly good professional reviews– the NY Times gave it a good review with some qualifications. Audiences have been luke warm to the film. TRDB.

4/12/15- Overall I’ll give this movie a passing grade but I was not overly impressed. Come in mid-way and see the better second half. TRDB.
