BOOK CLUB- 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Friends and members of the 60-plus set, Diane, Jane, Sharon and Carol have seen it all when it comes to relationships. But after reading “Fifty Shades of Gray,” they’re inspired to make bold choices in the romance department, with hilarious results.”

5/16/18- Early reviews are mixed for this comedy. Not my kind of movie anyway. TRDB.

6/19/18- Funny at times and silly as well but the movie was cute and I did enjoy it. I was the only man in the theater. TREB.

THE CLEANSE- 2018. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Johnny Galecki (TV’s “Big Bang Theory) plays Paul Berger, an unemployed, down and out, heartbroken man searching for happiness. When Paul sees an ad for a spiritual retreat promising to restart your life, he immediately signs up, hoping to cleanse himself and fix his broken life.”

4/4/18- Good reviews in general by the critics with some really poor ones tossed in as well. Audiences have not liked it. TRDB.

BLOCKERS- 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Panicked by the discovery that their daughters all intend to lose their virginity on prom night, three parents mount a clandestine mission to prevent the girls from carrying out their plans.”

4/6/18- Very good critical review but audiences really have not liked this movie. It sounds fairly stupid. TRDB.

FINDING YOUR FEET- 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Smugly confident, Sandra Abbott gets a shock when she learns that her longtime husband is sleeping with her best friend. Taking refuge with her free-spirited sister, Sandra grudgingly tags along to a dance class — where she experiences an awakening.”

3/30/18- Good reviews by the critics and weak ones from audiences. TRDB.

10/8/18- This movie was fun at times and worth a viewing. Not great by any stretch. TRDB. Netflix Disc.

THE DEATH OF STALIN- 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “Before his sudden death in 1953, Joseph Stalin held the Soviet Union in his iron grip for more than 30 years. This dark satire depicts the subsequent turmoil as his scheming minions begin jockeying for power.”

3/8/18- Excellent reviews. I saw a trailer for this film and it looked pretty stupid. TRDB.

OH LUCY!- 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “After Tokyo office worker Setsuko Kawashima begins taking an English class, she cautiously comes out of her shell as she dons a blond wig, adopts a new persona and falls for her handsome tutor. When he suddenly disappears, she sets off to find him.”

9/16/18- I enjoyed this Japanese drama very much. TRDB.

WE ARE NOT CATS- 2018. Synopsis by Netflix. “In just one day, young Eli loses his apartment, his job and his girlfriend. Undaunted, he lands a gig making a delivery to a distant town, where he meets the bewitching Anya and finds that they share a peculiar habit: eating human hair.”

2/22/18- Not my kind of movie but it did get good reviews. TRDB.
