Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Niels Arden Oplev, the acclaimed director of the original The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, makes his American theatrical debut with the new action thriller, DEAD MAN DOWN. Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace star as two strangers who are irresistibly drawn to one another by their mutual desire for revenge.”

THE COLLECTION- 2012. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “When Elena’s (Emma Fitzpatrick) friends take her to a secret party at an undisclosed location, she never imagined she would become the latest victim of The Collector, a psychopathic killer. The Collector kidnaps and transports her to an abandoned hotel he’s transformed into his own private maze of torture and death. Upon learning of his daughter’s disappearance, Elena’s wealthy father (Christopher McDonald) hires a group of mercenaries to retrieve her from the vicious grips of The Collector. These mercenaries coerce Arkin (Josh Stewart), the only man to have escaped the wrath of this heinous monster, to lead them through the gruesome labyrinth. Now, Arkin finds himself fighting for his own life in order to save Elena.
Not my kind of movie but it has received very good reviews so far. I’ll skip it! TRDB.

ANTHONY ZIMMER- 2005. Synopsis by Netflix. “Sophie Marceau and Yvan Attal star in this French romance-thriller about deception and the hunt for a criminal mastermind. Knowing she’s the bait to trap her unidentifiable lover, Chiara (Marceau) leads the chase to François (Attal), an innocent man. But as Russian hit men close in on François, police detective Akerman (Sami Frey) — and Chiara — soon realize that they are all pawns in a brilliant game played by the elusive Anthony Zimmer.” Good reviews. TRDB.
12/20/11- I enjoyed this movie very much. TRDB. Netflix Streaming.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO- 2011. Synopsis by Netflix. “When a young computer hacker is tasked with investigating a prying journalist, their separate missions become entangled amid a decades-old conspiracy. David Fincher directs this English adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s novel.” Very good reviews for this remake only 2 years after the 1st. one. TRDB.

JULIA’S EYES- 2010. Synopsis by Netflix. “This heart-pounding thriller follows Julia (Belén Rueda), who is losing her eyesight to a degenerative disease. When her twin sister, Sara, supposedly commits suicide, Julia suspects that a murderer is on the loose — and that she’s next. As she investigates with her husband, Isaac (Lluís Homar), Julia realizes that a man is watching her, but her credibility is weakened by her worsening vision and the fact that she can’t identify her pursuer.” Good professional reviews and just OK audience ones. TRDB.
12/22/11- This is the first “Horror” film I’ve watched in years (didn’t realize this before turning it on) and I now remember why. Well done but it’s not for me!! TRDB. Netflix.

2/13/12- I could not get into this movie that jumped from place to place so quickly that I lost any interest in following the issue. Also I felt like I had seen this several times in the past. TRDB. Netflix.
