STRANGER BY THE LAKE- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “In this gay murder thriller, young Franck notices the middle-aged Henri sitting on a beach by himself and starts a conversation. Their dialogue continues over several days, in between Franck’s repeated trysts with a seductive killer named Michel.”

5/20/14- This movie was trivial and poorly acted and went from boring to downright weird. I turned it off. TRDB.

LOVES HER GUN- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “When Allie is attacked in New York, she picks up and moves to Austin. Paranoid and still haunted by the incident, she immerses herself in the city’s gun culture as a way to feel less vulnerable.”
1/10/14- A good review from the NY Times in today’s issue. Most other critics have liked it also. TRDB.
12/22/14- I liked this movie very much. My only problem with it is that Allie’s introduction to the gun may have taken place too late in the movie. TRDB. Netflix.

11/22/14- As noted, very good reviews but I was bored to distraction and could not care less what happened to anyone in the film. That’s when I turned it off. TRDB.

12/13/13- Mixed reviews from critics but audiences have liked it. The NY Times did not care for it. TRDB.
7/30/14- I found the movie somewhat slow in the beginning but it got better and ended with a bang. Most of the critical review was either VERY positive or VERY negative. Little in between. TRDB.
