THE BEGUILED (1971)- Synopsis by Netflix. “An injured Civil War soldier (Clint Eastwood) takes refuge in a fancy Southern girls’ school and quickly becomes the center of attention as the girls clamor for his affections, and the headmistress (Geraldine Page) freely practices her surgical skills on him. A far cry from typical Eastwood films, this moody, atmospheric drama is a tension-filled cult favorite from director Don Siegel (Dirty Harry, Escape from Alcatraz).”

THE TRIP TO SPAIN- 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Again tasked with a culinary tour — this time of Spain — Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon arm themselves with celebrity impressions, witty banter and observations about aging, and set off on a road trip steeped in paella, gazpacho and wine.”
8/11/17- Mixed reviews at best. This is the 3rd. movie of this type with the same 2 actors. I did like the first two so I’ll probably try this one also. TRDB.

GOOD TIME- 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “When an ill-fated bank robbery attempt puts his brother behind bars, Constantine Nikas begins a frenzied all-night scramble to get his sibling out of lockup while trying to stay one step ahead of a police manhunt himself.”
8/11/17- I usually don’t recommend movies of this sort but this one received excellent reviews– with a few notable exceptions. TRDB.

THE GLASS CASTLE- 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Adapted from the novel of the same name, this family drama follows future writer Jeannette Walls, who spends her hardscrabble childhood on the run with her negligent artist mother and storytelling alcoholic father.”
8/9/17- Mixed reviews but it sounds quirky enough to be enjoyable. Audiences liked it more than the critics. TRDB.
12/7/17- If you can get over hating the lead actor you can enjoy this movie. I did. TRDB.

STRANGE WEATHER- 2017. Synopsis by Netflix. “Still haunted by her son’s suicide, Darcy Baylor sets out with her best friend on a road trip through the Deep South to confront the college buddy she believes stole her boy’s restaurant concept and used it to make millions.”
7/28/17- Critics were 50/50 on this movie but I try not to miss a road trip if possible. TRDB.
