PARKLAND- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Based on Vincent Bugliosi’s book, this powerful drama takes place in the Dallas hospital where John F. Kennedy was brought after being shot on Nov. 22, 1963. Intertwining stories follow doctors, FBI agents, an unwitting cameraman and many others.”

9/25/13- Mixed reviews but many critics did not like this movie at all. TRDB.

BRIDEGROOM- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Helmed by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, this illuminating documentary chronicles the story of Shane Bitney Crone, who finds himself shut out and deprived of the legal protections of marriage after his same-sex partner dies in a tragic accident.”

JEWTOPIA- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Old friends Chris and Adam are facing opposite marriage issues: Chris is pursuing his Jewish dream girl, while Adam is having doubts about his own. When Chris asks Adam to help him pass as Jewish, comedic complications and consequences shortly ensue.”

ARISE

ARISE- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Daryl Hannah narrates this documentary that uses poetry, music and art to spotlight global women who share a new vision for environmental stewardship. From rainforests to cities, these women search for ways to live in balance with nature.”

9/20/13- An OK review in today’s NY Times. The review said that the movie making was not as good as the subject of this documentary. TRDB.

AS I LAY DYING

AS I LAY DYING- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Writer-director James Franco’s ambitious take on William Faulkner’s classic novel chronicles the sobering story of a poor Southern clan carrying out the family matriarch’s dying wish to be buried in a distant town”

10/11/13- The NY Times gave this a good review but most critics did not like it. TRDB.

11/11/13- I didn’t like it but managed to watch almost half before turning it off. TRDB.
