SYRUP- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Scat, an unmotivated slacker with unapplied genius potential, hatches a million-dollar idea for an energy drink. But in order to see it through, he has to learn to trust his attractive corporate counterpart, who may be out to steal his idea.”

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING- 2012. Synopsis by Netflix. “In Joss Whedon’s modern take on the Shakespearean comedy, Claudio’s love for the beautiful Hero makes him a target of his friend Benedick’s mockery. But as Benedick trades barbs with Hero’s cousin Beatrice, he just may be falling in love.”

A WEDDING INVITATION- 2013. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “High school sweethearts QiaoQiao and Li Xing are about to graduate from university and Li Xing surprises QiaoQiao with a marriage proposal. QiaoQiao, however, declines the proposal, offering rash arguments as to why he’s not ready. Little does he know, QiaoQiao has a devastating secret.”

NANCY, PLEASE- 2012. Synopsis by Netflix. “A doctoral candidate who just moved in with his girlfriend wages a maddening war with his former roommate to reclaim an important book he left behind. But Nancy has no intention of giving Little Dorrit back.”

5/24/13- All of the critics (including the NY Times today) liked it but none raved about it. Audiences have liked it as well. TRDB.

VALENTINO’S GHOST

VALENTINO’S GHOST- 2013. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Valentino’s Ghost shows the way in which the U.S. foreign policy agenda in the Middle East, drives the U.S. mainstream media’s portrayals of Arabs and Muslims.”

5/17/13- A good review in today’s NY Times and from the few other professional reviews that I could find. The Times’ review said that the film gave a different picture of the Middle East than we are used to.  TRDB.
