10/30/16- A profoundly sad chronicle of a gay black child becoming a gay black man. The movie was extremely well done- acting and music reminded me of an opera. The movie really needed sub-titles and I feel that I missed a significant portion of the dialogue. TRDB.

MISS HOKUSAI- 2016. Synopsis by Netflix. “As the daughter of master Japanese woodblock print maker Hokusai, O-Ei is herself a skilled painter. The girl’s talent may even surpass her father’s, as she creates exquisite artwork that she passes off as his, and which provoke powerful responses.”
