9/28/13- An OK rating on IMDB and mixed reviews in general. The NY Times liked it. TRDB.

WEDDING PALACE- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “With his parents desperate for him to marry, bachelor Jason begins a quest to find his true love, discovering her in a business meeting in Korea. After a long-distance courtship, Jason’s fiancée joins him stateside but is not at all what he expected.”

9/27/13- Early reviews are mixed– the NY Times liked it. Audiences have liked it very much. TRDB.

OUT IN THE DARK

OUT IN THE DARK- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Sparks fly when Roy, an Israeli lawyer, and Nimr, a Palestinian graduate student, meet at a bar in Tel Aviv. But their budding relationship is threatened when Nimr’s student visa is revoked and he faces deportation.”

9/27/13- Mixed reviews, more positive than negative. The NY Times liked it very much. TRDB.

11/5/13- An interesting and very well acted movie bringing to light some of the difficulties of life in the Middle East. TRDB.

ON THE JOB

ON THE JOB- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “How much trouble can prisoners get into on a one-day pass? A lot, it turns out, if they’re hired assassins on politicos’ payrolls. Meanwhile, a pair of cops investigate the murders in this action drama based on real events in the Phillipines.”

9/27/13- Very good reviews from all critics and audiences as well. Today’s NY Times gave it a glowing review. TRDB.

HOTEL NORMANDY- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Two years after her husband dies in a motorbike crash, Alice’s best pals send her to the luxurious Hotel Normandy for her birthday. Unknown to Alice, her friends also arrange for a man they feel may be just right for her to be there as well.”

9/27/13- A good review in today’s NY Times, mixed reviews from other critics and poor audience reaction. I think I’ll give it a try anyway when it comes to DVD format. TRDB.

ZAYTOUN

ZAYTOUN- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “In 1982 Beirut, an Israeli fighter pilot named Yoni crashes outside a camp of young Palestinian refugees, where he’s met by gun-toting orphan Fahed. In exchange for his freedom, Yoni agrees to take the boy back to the village where his parents lived.”

9/20/13- This sounds interesting but it has received weak reviews all around. TRDB.

3/12/14- A nice idea but way too acted and simplistic. I’d give it an OK if you have little else to do. TRDB.

IL FUTURO- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “While struggling to care for her younger brother, orphaned teen Bianca sets out to secure their future by seducing a blind neighbor who’s reputedly worth a fortune. But she’s ultimately unprepared for the effect he’ll have on her life.”

9/6/13- A good review in today’s NY Times and good reviews elsewhere as well. TRDB.

6/19/15- I liked this movie very much. Do NOT confuse it with the American movie “The Future.” TRDB. Netflix Streaming.
