IN HARMS WAY- 1965. Synopsis by Netflix. “This World War II epic focuses on the effect the Pearl Harbor attack had on military lives. After a failed counterstrike on the Japanese, Capt. Torrey gets shore duty, finds love with a nurse, reconciles with his son and is finally sent back to sea.”

7/1/15– Starring John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Patricia Neal plus many others. I’ve seen this a few times before and never thought it was worth nearly 3 hours of my time. I still don’t. TRDB.

6/24/15- About young love and the realities of war. Very well acted and I liked it very much. TRDB. At the Theater.

UNFREEDOM- 2015. Synopsis by Netflix. “This riveting drama juxtaposes two tales, one involving a Muslim fundamentalist who travels to New York City to abduct and kill an Islamic scholar, while the other follows a closeted lesbian who’s halfway across the world facing an arranged marriage.”

5/15/15- Excellent reviews for this movie and for Blythe Danner as well. TRDB.

5/30/15- A delightful comedy/romance movie with a very good and accurate script. Blythe Danner was wonderful. TRDB. At the Theater.

BRAVETOWN

BRAVETOWN- 2015. Synopsis by Netflix. “After his accidental drug overdose, a court orders New York City DJ and party animal Josh Harvest to live with his estranged father in a tiny North Dakota town — where Josh acquires a new perspective on life.”

5/8/15- Dismal reviews including the NY Times that called the movie excruciating. Audiences have liked it very much. I’ll miss it.  TRDB.
