THE ARMSTRONG LIE– 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Filming cyclist Lance Armstrong as he trained for the 2009 Tour de France, director Alex Gibney had intimate access to the racer’s team. Gibney’s cameras were also rolling for Armstrong’s startling 2012 confession of performance-enhancing drug use.”

SWEET DREAMS- 2013. Synopsis by Rotten Tomatoes. “Rwanda’s first and only all women’s drumming troupe is called Ingoma Nshya. Made up of women from both sides of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, the troupe offers a place of support, healing and reconciliation. When the group decides to partner with two young American entrepreneurs, Jennie Dundas and Alexis Miesen of Brooklyn’s Blue Marble Ice Cream, and open Rwanda’s first ever ice cream shop, these remarkable Rwandan women embark on a journey of independence, peace and possibility.”

The film features interviews with comedians, filmmakers, fellow artists, and long-tme admirers.”

THE INSTITUTE- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “Meet some of the 10,000 San Franciscans who took part in the Jejune Institute, a combination citywide art project and living game, from 2008 to 2011. This documentary attempts to explain the endeavor itself, its appeal and its curious origins.”

GOD LOVES UGANDA

GOD LOVES UGANDA- 2013. Synopsis by Netflix. “This powerful documentary examines the evangelical campaign to spread the values of America’s Christian right in Uganda, including a fierce fight against sexual immorality taken on by both American and Ugandan fundamentalist religious leaders.”
