7/15/16- Mostly good reviews with a few poor ones tossed in– typical for Woody’s films. TRDB.

7/25/16- As usual I enjoyed yet another of Woody’s films. TRDB. At the Theater.

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC- 2016. Synopsis by Netflix. “Having raised his six children in the wooded isolation of the Pacific Northwest, Ben Cash is suddenly drawn back into civilization by a shocking tragedy. As the kids face an unfamiliar world, Ben begins to reexamine his approach to parenting.”

7/1/16-Fairly good reviews from critics and audiences. The trailer looks interesting to me and I like Vigo Mortensen and, of course, Frank Langella. TRDB.

8/17/16- Despite a few plot lapses this was a very good movie about family and parental choices. TRDB. At the Theater.

HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE- 2016. Synopsis by Netflix. “Young misfit Ricky Baker has grown comfortable with his foster parents, Aunt Bella and Uncle Hec. But when Bella’s death threatens to send Ricky back to child services, the irascible Hec heads for the bush with Ricky, setting off a national manhunt.”

9/29/16- A poignant and fun movie. Loved the scene about “form fillers.” TRDB. Netflix.

WIENER-DOG

WIENER-DOG- 2016. Synopsis by Netflix. “Unfolding through four vignettes, this episodic tale follows a spirited female dachshund as she’s taken in by a series of shifting owners, including a 9-year-old cancer survivor, a despondent film professor and a crotchety shut-in.”

6/24/16- Fair reviews by the critics and poor ones by audiences so far. It does sound creative and I’ll probably see it eventually. TRDB.
